Important! Even most of the routines were well tested, bugs and mistakes are possible. Use them at your own risk. Have fun!
Non-linear Analysis Toolbox 1.1 - availabe from the web
or by e-mail
request.
Some information regarding the toolbox and its use is available: here.
The routines are written in Matlab
language and are user friendly. The toolbox was designed for the
multifractal
analysis of earthquakes and can be used in a convenient way under Zmap
software. The present toolbox is an extension of the "Fractal
toolbox"
of Zmap, written by Stefan
Wiemer. With few modifications you can use the routines to analyse
other kinds of data as well. The toolbox includes also a program for
long-range
correlation analysis. Other routines, especialy for chaotic time series
analysis, may be addded in the future, depending on my time.
Matlab routines to simulate seismicity
by using simple
spring-block models. Most of the programs are, in
fact, using cellular automata (CA) algorithms. The programs can
be slow, if the number of blocks (or cells) is large. More complex
models,
implementing for example long-range spatial correlations, would
require,
obviously, even more computational time. The routines are good,
however,
to illustrate the temporal patterns of seismicity (including the
occurrence
of aftershocks and foreshocks) as well as the spatial ones
(clustering).
Also one can test how the frequency-magnitude distribution is changing
by varying different physically meaningful parameters.

I delayed their upload hoping I will have more time to improve
them... I could not do it, unfortunately, due to a very busy schedule
with
my thesis and other several projects I work at, so I decided to post
what
I have already. I appologize for the situation. There are few
explanations
within the routines, but I intend to add a readme file with additional
comments. You can download a zip archive, by clicking Here.
Please let me if you use/find useful/improve/ the routines. Thanks!
Quick Basic routines - I used Quick Basic extensively in the
past and wrote several routines for seismicity analysis:
- compute b-value, fractal dimension (D2) and their time evolution;
- check for the completeness of earthquake' catalogs (by using the
method of Rydelek and Sacks, Nature, 337, 251-253, 1989).
- earthquakes' frequency versus time.
You can now Download
a Zip archive containing both the source code and executables.
